DAY 2
Morning Transfer to the Turkish Steps “La Scala dei Turchi” – Itinerary to a surprising natural wonder on a cliff and spare time at this brilliant white rock eroded into giant steps by the sea.
Lunch “A pranzo con Montalbano” – Lunch at Camilleri’s home town: Porto Empedocle, which is the famous fictional town of “Vigàta” where Inspector Montalbano lives and works. During the lunch time you’ll learn some Italian goodies about Montalbano’s gastronomic preferences.
Afternoon “Cooking with Bart!” – Bart is a chef who loves fresh foods and officinal herbs, you will learn the gestures and rituals behind the traditional Sicilian preserves.
DAY 3
Morning Transfer to the Valley of the Temples. “La Valle dei Templi” – Guided tour to this archaeological site at Agrigento, an exceptional historic testimony to Magna Graecia’s presence in this area. It is one of the most outstanding examples of Greater Greece art and architecture, and is one of the main attractions of Sicily as well as a national monument of Italy. The area is included in the UNESCO Heritage Site list.
Lunch “Time to taste” – Discover some wonderful local dishes at Sarda Salata.
Afternoon Transfer to the local beaches. “Relax and explore” – Discover your own beach paradise: Snorkel, swim and sunbathe. “Aperitivo” – A goodbye Aperitivo at Aziende Agricole Quignones, a family Winery set on the fertile hills surrounding Licata, near Agrigento. Hectares of vineyard and olive trees to walk through.

DAY 2
Morning Morning “Walking the Battlefield” – Discover WW2 sites: Licata served as an Allied landingpoint in the 1943 World War II invasion of Sicily. Excursion to the beaches where the Allies landed during the so called “Operation HUSKY”.
Lunch “Tenuta Barone La Lumia” – Landing traces of the Allies have been found at Tenuta Barone La Lumia. The rooms of the palace are places of memory that come alive in the objects left behind by those who temporarily lived and by those who, for centuries, they are faithful guardians of beauty. The estate was the headquarters, in 1943, General Patton, here you can touch a piece of history, letters, photographs, military equipment, maps.
Afternoon “Dispatches from the front” – Licata, became Adano in John Hersey’s novel ”A Bell for Adano,” which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1945. Two cultures confront one another in this walking tour, the story tells about an Italian-American major in World War II who wins the love and admiration of the local townspeople when he searches for a replacement for the 700 year-old town bell that had been melted down for bullets by the fascists. We walk through the fictional town that physically mirrors. The town halls of both Adano and Licata are located in a square called “Piazza Progresso,” and the principal churches of both towns are called Church of Sant’Angelo.
